That was an awesome concept executed in a good way. I was tense for the whole playthrough, also thanks to the pixelated graphics. The industrial complex was a great choice for a setting. The ending was a bit predictable but maybe because a lot of games uses that trope. It was a nightmare... but wait, it's actually a nightmarish reality. So, yeah overall a solid horror experience.

As an ending note I left something weird and funny which happened to me during my playthrough. I didn't want to bring this up in the beginning, because it didn't ruin my experience, but it's worth mentioning.

So I was a dumbass and I haven't read the controls and didn't know that RMB was the flashlight button. So I figured it might F or L which are standard controls for a flashlight in video games. I pressed F, nothing happened, but when I pressed L the whole map was immediately illuminated by light! It looked like the light sources were coming from the floor. I don't know how to describe it, I'm just a player not a developer, but yeah, basically dark, industrial corridors were suddenly bright as in pure daylight when I pressed L.

My theory is that it is probably some lighting error, but I don't know, I could be very wrong.

So yeah weird glitch/bug which I could use to my benefit, because I could see the monster from far away and flashlight was basically useless. Or maybe it's a purposeful cheat code haha

Best of luck in creating the next games!

Thank you very much for your detailed review!

Regarding the L key I guess I was the bigger dumbass. It was a debug key I used during playtesting to identify graphic glitches or things like that. I just forgot to remove it when finishing the game. Thanks for pointing that out. Cheers!

Oh, so I was partially right haha

Being a dumbass isn't a problem, everybody everyday has their dumbass moments. You will get rid of the almighty L key and everything will be fine.

Thanks for the reply, I will keep an eye for your next games!

Made a video on Lights Out!

A great twist on the flashlight using. I have to use it to see, but if i do, it won't end well ! Awesome elevator scare as well. Well done!

I made a video on your game if you're interested :)

Thanks for giving it a shot!

What a solid game! Loved the mechanic with the flashlight. You need it, but at the same time you can't leave it on all the time or else you get killed. Really changes the way flashlights have always worked in horror games. Made a video on it.

Great design with good choices, although I was a bit confused with the interaction, is it difficult on purpose or not?

I really enjoyed the atmosphere in the game. Definitely a unique take on nightmares and even thou, some instances reminded me of "Silent Hill", I did enjoy the simple "lights out" mechanic, as one might call it like that. Like I said in the beginning, I was a bit lost with the interaction as I was not able to click on things, even thou I tried my best. Overall - decent game.

Wish all the best in the future. Big fan and a follower - Niven!

Hey man,

I tried to replicate the issue with the interaction. It could be due to the colliders being a bit small, causing the player having to be quite colse to the object. Going to look into it later.

Thank you very much for the review :)

Thank you for making such an awesome game and commenting on my YT channel!
I think that interaction issue might be to your advantage, because it adds a layer of tension and anxiety. Keep up the great work!
